Parents often tell us they have searched  fruitlessly for a good source of maths tuition, going from maths tutor to centre to centre and trying endless home tutors, who typically start the ‘lesson’ with, “…and what would you like help with today?”  All a student knows is that he or she can’t do the work or find the attempts to do the work agonizing… the student cannot be expected to prescribe the solution for their own problem.

This waste of time and money, doing a trial and error search for quality help for the children, is very sad, indeed.  The tutors often charge money to simply assist with homework assigned by school.  It’s a pity so many tuition providers have no means of comprehensively assessing the student’s maths skills and needs.  Being part of a group lesson is also a waste of time as it does not allow for true individual tuition.

Learning Maths is like building a brick wall. Bricks missing in the foundation of the wall can result in an unstable wall.  New mathematics concepts cannot be fully understood if all the 'bricks' beneath it are not solid.  Mathematics done the ' way begins with an assessment and often supplementary testing to ‘zero-in’ on just where the student began to have difficulty with their maths foundations.  These missing building blocks in maths foundations have made all ensuing work more difficult, time consuming and frustrating than it should have ever been.
